If your data is at irregular intervals (for example, all weekends and holidays are missing), you might want this to be reflected on your chart. By default, Stock Chart places data at equal intervals; for example, check this chart. If you move the mouse along the plot area, you will notice that the values for some days are missing, however the distance between data points is the same. This is common practice when working with stock/fund data.
However, as Stock Chart can be used to display any date/time-based data, it can also place data points at irregular intervals. You can do this with the following setting:
<equal_spacing>false</equal_spacing>
The data of this example is also missing weekends and holidays, and as you see, the distance between data points is not equal.
