Scroller
You can use the scroller to scroll the chart when it is zoomed-in. Try to drag the green bar below the plot area. You can configure the position and colors of your scroller.
JavaScript controls
Right after the chart is loaded, a JavaScript tells the chart to show data from 1972 to 1986. You can use the HTML form below the chart to set a custom period, or you can do it by selecting an area of interest on the chart. When a period is set, or the scroller is dragged, the chart calls another JavaScript and tells it which period is currently selected. This period is displayed in the form below the chart. With JavaScript, you can fully control your chart - get and set data, change various parameters, etc.
Custom background and bullets
You can use custom Flash files or images as your chart background. You can also use one of built-in bullets (square, round + the same with an outline) or load custom bullets. For example, the "bomb" in this example is a custom Flash movie. Your bullets can have a link to a website, or call custom JavaScript functions when the viewer clicks on them. Any of your data points can have custom descriptions - move your mouse to one of the bombs to see how descriptions are displayed.
Events
If you click on the darker area in the chart background, you will get a popup with some text. This darker area is an "event". You can set when your event starts and when it ends, set the color, and add description to it.
